The Umayyads Time Span
The Umayyads before lived in Iraq. Though, they went away due to the community. While they were ruling there was a group of people that didn't like their way of ruling since they thought the Umayyads didn't focus on the people more on the riches. This group of people were getting stronger by the minute, leading to them getting so much power they were able to defeat the Umayyads. So, then the Umayyads had to go away in order to start a new life in Spain, in 756.
The ruler was Abd al-Raham. He was strong, and determined. By the time he died in 788, al-Andalus (Muslim Spain) was a strong, united place. After 125 years al-Andalus reached its peek. They had huge armies, strong walls, intelligence, and technology it the city. For the next few years al-Andalus was a great place full of wonderful things. But, this couldn't last forever. Al-Andalus fell to an end when Christian launch attacks started and the Umayyads got weaker, this leading to smaller kingdoms.
